Relining – Helping protect the environment

Leaking sewer pipes are a clear threat to the local environment and public health. The Drain Man’s reliable underground relining solution makes it easier than ever to rehabilitate long lengths of pipes and protect the local environment from sewer leakage.

Without the need to run diesel excavators for days, relining can also be more energy efficient. Not only that, but by saving lines rather than digging them up and replacing them it can be less wasteful too.

Our relining solutions also help the local environment by avoiding the need for destructive trench digging, which can irrevocably harm landscaping, trees, and habitats for local wildlife.

When you’re looking to “go green” with your plumbing, Stormwater and sewer solutions, call and speak with The Drain Man today.

“We are committed to creating a work environment that people can grow in and belong to forever, if that’s their wish.” – Brendan Dover, Owner.

Since starting The Drain Man in 2001, Brendan Dover likes to think he has maintained as big a focus on people as he has on drain clearing. The Ringwood business runs weekly sessions for its 29 employees to share their thoughts on the business and on life, and trains each one, regardless of their position, in customer service and communication. The team is also given open access to a business coach, employed in 2007 while the business was still operating out of Brendan’s home and had just two employees. Specialising in clearing and relining drains, using a no-dig, non-invasive method, The Drain Man has created a very Kenny-like culture, insisting no employee is asked to do a job another would not and ensuring each customer is converted into a “raving fan” through prompt service, competitive rates and reliable work. The company also prioritises community service, supporting and promoting TLC for Kids, a charity for helping children in hospital and their families.

The team at The Drain Man would extremely appreciate it if our customers would take the time to go onto the Telstra Business Awards website and vote for us in both categories for 2011. Please visit the website at

Protecting against blockages

Food and oil interceptors (also known as grease traps) play a very important role in keeping our sewerage systems clear from oils, fats and food particles that can cause blockages.

If you operate a food outlet, it is important that you have an adequately sized food and oil interceptor in place and that it is pumped out at required intervals.

South East Water’s Trade Waste team will be more than happy to assist, simply call 9552 3662 for more information.
